St. John's Lutheran Church, Burt, IA

Pastor Peterson is originally from Millington, MI, and is a graduate of Millington High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI in 2002, with a major in Biblical Languages and a minor in Theatre.

He attended seminary at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN. His vicarage was served at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Altamont, IL from 2004-2005. He graduated with the Master of Divinity degree in May 2006, with an emphasis in Exegetical Theology (Study of the Bible in the original Greek and Hebrew languages). He was ordained at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI on June 25, 2006 and was installed as pastor of St. John's on July 2.

The areas of study that he enjoys most are preaching and the history of American religious thought and attitudes. In his spare time, he enjoys bowling and sports, especially the Detroit Redwings, Detroit Tigers, and University of Michgan Wolverines. He also enjoys music and plays string bass along with several other instruments.

He and his wife Sarah have been married since December 30, 2005.
